Johnny Dear
Crystal Springs
Tuesday night, February 7th, 2012 , a hard fought battle was won. Johnny Dear, of Crystal Springs Mississippi went home to be with our Lord and was met at heavens gates by his loved ones that preceded him. The battle that began at the end of June, according to Johnny, was a battle that he couldn’t lose. As he stated on numerous occasions, “It’s win win for me. I will either beat the cancer and get more time to be with my family, or I will go home to be with my Lord.” Tuesday night, with a peace that could only come from God, he won his battle and is now beginning his life in eternity.

Johnny always made sacrifices, putting others before himself. Called Coach by many children, Johnny touched hundreds of young lives, instilling in them the value of hard work, practice, and the importance of reaching their goals. He never met a stranger and was easy to love. His love for God was known by everyone that knew him. Even in his final days, the faith, courage, and love shown by Johnny was an inspiration to all around him.

Johnny was born on July 20th, 1950 to Billie Neal Dear and J.R. Dear, both preceding him in death. Johnny leaves behind 2 brothers, Bob Dear of Hopewell Mississippi and Scott Dear of Crystal Springs Mississippi. He was a loving father and leaves behind 3 children. Rena’ Brent (Garland) of Crystal Springs Mississippi, Kevin Dear (Tasha) of Crystal Springs Mississippi, and Chase Dear of Brookhaven Mississippi. Along with these, Johnny leaves behind 2 grandchildren. Tyler Dear and Tristan Dear. Johnny leaves behind a vey faithful companion and friend, his beloved dog Pierre. Johnny also leaves behind, the mother of his children, Jeanene Dear.

Though he is greatly missed, his family and friends find comfort in knowing that he waits for them in eternity and that through the blood of Christ, they will see him again.

Reaching Out

My heart is reaching out to you,
For what you’re going through;
I’m thinking of you frequently
And praying for you, too.

If there’s something I can do,
Anything at all,
Think of me thinking of you,
And don’t hesitate to call.
